As you know, I’ve been a member of the Palm Desert Chamber for a little over a year. I just wanted to share with you and other members of the Chamber the REAL reason that we have all joined a chamber or two. It’s to get business. It’s to meet people that can use your services or products or know someone that can do the same.
Well, I want to share my story with you. I attended the Business Expo last year and met Jason and Burt from Desert Business Interiors. Being in the plant business, it was a perfect compliment to the great interiors that these guys could provide. We met again at a chamber mixer (yes, you do have to go to those things) and was given a referral to a job they had just finished, VIP Urgent Care. After several months of negotiations, VIP Urgent Care now has beautiful plants, great containers and a fabulous guaranteed plant service! Similar to the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce, who, by the way, was also referred by DBI.
My thanks to Jason and Burt from Desert Business Interiors, for trusting me with their clients, to Barbara from the Chamber, for working with me, and to Blake from VIP Urgent Care, who knows what he wants. And of course, to the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce for giving me a vehicle to meet people and grow my business.

The strength, visibility and reach of the Palm Desert Chamber is incredible, and gets everyone’s attention, giving credibility to us and who we are in the local business world. When we meet other business people at mixers or on their own turf, they listen to us seriously, and are confident that we are a serious entity and will be able to perform to any task that we accept. It’s a good feeling, and works both ways.

The Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce has been such a great resource for me and my business. Thetford Web Development has grown due to the contacts and friends that I have made through the chamber. It is true; your membership definitely works for you if you get involved!
